That is the thing with quizzing, you replace gossip with trivia. If you are a quizzer, you automatically become smart, exclusive, interesting and impressive. Quizzing demands just one thing, 'curiosity' and returns all the things I mentioned above. I don't think reading a good newspaper and joining quizzing groups on Facebook is a bad investment after all.
